Mayo week

Thank you all for your continued prayers and sweet messages of encouragement, you guys are the best!

Jessie is scheduled at Mayo for next week. On Monday 3/17 at 7:15 a.m., she will have an EKG, then at 12:45 p.m. she will be meeting with her Endocrinologist. At 1:00 p.m., she will be meeting with the Neurologist who will be performing both the ISPS (see below), as well as the surgery. After that, she will be meeting with the cardiologist to make sure that all is well with her heart. On Tuesday 3/18 at 6:30 a.m., Jess will be having the Inferior Sinus Petrossal Sampling procedure (for more info, see this link: http://www.cushings-help.com/petrossal.htm ). This is an eight hour long procedure, where they will “map out” the region where they will be performing the surgery. On Wednesday 3/19, she will be meeting again with all of the doctors to review the results of the ISPS procedure. The surgery will be on Thursday 3/20, at 6:30 a.m. As far as her stay at the hospital after the surgery, they are thinking that she should be home by Monday, 3/24, if all goes according to planned! That blows me away, since I was on “vacation” at the hospital for 10 days! I refer to my hospital stay as a “vacation” because at the time of my brain surgery (5 years ago), my “babies” were 1 ½ and 3 ½ , and as most of you know, those are SUPER busy years! I still sometimes joke to Jon about “needing” another hospital stay. We will have more details on Monday! We won’t be able to speak with the Neurologist until then.

We are so grateful to the doctors, nurses, lab techs and all of the wonderful people that are helping us along the way. They are all so thorough in everything that they do! Everyone at Mayo has just been so incredibly kind, warm, caring, helpful and genuinely sweet. The line of communication between all of Jessie’s doctors seems to be very open, this is reassuring to Jess. In the past, we’ve had a few experiences with poor communication between doctors, which can be disastrous! We are very thankful that this “problem” can be fixed, that it is NOT cancerous, and that God has placed us in the perfect hands for repair!

Jess is anxious to get this over with, but she is very much peaceful about all that will be taking place next week. She just wants to get through this and get back to feeling like her old self. She has such a great attitude about the entire situation. God has given her so much strength and patience to get through this!

Mom too has complete peace about next week, and thankfully her work has been very accomodating in meeting her needs for the time away at "Le Mayo Clinic".

I am personally thankful for husband’s flexible schedule, also that his mom and dad will be arriving here for a week from San Diego on Thursday 3/20 (planned months ago), perfect timing! They are pros at our routine around here, and are always more than willing to help in any way that they can! I am a very blessed daughter-in-law!

Jess wanted to be able to share more pictures and things with all of you, so we have set up a blog for her! It’s the same info that you will find on this site, but with pictures and music. Just click here to check it out: http://jessicasjourneyblog.blogspot.com/

Under His Wings,

Liz, Jess & Nancy

Wanted to share today's devotion with you, which was very encouraging to all of us. It comes from Beth Moore's, Praying God's word day by day: 3/11
"God, even in this difficult place, You have treasures for me here. You will give me the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that I may know that You are the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons me by name (Isa.43:3). You want me to discover the riches of relationship with You that will set me free from this place."
