Hi Everyone! Just a little update on Jess. The tumor that she has is an 8 mm adenoma. It is an ACTH hormone secreting tumor. http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH/WSIHW000/9339/24667.html Mom, Jess and I leave this evening for The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN., for a series of preliminary appointments that will be taking place tomorrow. Thankfully it is only a 2 hour drive away. We feel so fortunate to live so close to The Mayo Clinic, a hospital that people travel all over the world to for medical treatment! Tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. we will be meeting with an Endocrinologist (hormone doctor) at Mayo. We are planning on being there all day tomorrow, as Jess has an assortment of appointments with various doctors. Her endocrinologist also wants to rule out Cushings Disease vs. Pseudo Cushings Disease. http://www.endocrine.niddk.nih.gov/pubs/cushings/cushings.htm We will know a lot more after tomorrow. Hopefully we will even have a surgery date to go by. Thank you again for your love, prayers and support. God is in control and is giving us all extra patience, energy and peace through this time. I know that Jess would LOVE a message from you, so please feel free to leave her a message in her guestbook. We will be checking in, I know that she is so encouraged by everyone's sweet words. She is really doing great, and has a very positive attitude. I know that she is scared at times, but she is a trooper. I keep reminding her that if I could do this, she can do it too. It truly does amaze me that she also now has a pituitary tumor. I always wondered what the purpose behind me going through all of that five years ago was. If it is so that I can now help to comfort Jess, it was SO worth it! Again, God works all things together for the good! We'll check in again tomorrow with another update!!
Love to you all!!
Liz
